Biography
(22.11.1983, Almaty) – ballet dancer,ballet master. Honored Figure of Kazakhstan (2017).
She graduated from the A. V. Seleznev Almaty Choreographic School, teacher M. M. Tiranova (1993-2001), Bachelor program at the T. K. Zhurgenov KazNAA in specialty
“Choreography Directing”, workshop of Z. M. Raibayev, G. U. Tutkibayeva (2001-2006). In the same institution, in 2012, she was conferred Master’s degree in Art History and qualification “Theatre Critic”. G.Yu. Saitova is the first teacher who determined the creative path in the future profession.
She began the carrier activity in the Abay State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre as a ballet dancer (2003-2013), where she danced a number of solo parts in ballet and opera performances. On the stage of the Abay SAOBT she made her debut as a production choreographer with her Diploma work (one- act ballet “The Child and the Spells” to the music of M. Ravel) and concert performances, collaborated with the K. Kuzhamyarov Republican Uyghur Theatre of Musical Comedy. Participated in organizing the presentation of the choreographic troupe “ABC” and the opening ceremony of the International Film Festival “Eurasia – 2005”.
In 2012, she completed professional development courses at the St. Petersburg State University of Culture and Arts.
In 2014, she was invited to the position of the ballet master at the “Astana Ballet” Theatre, where she staged a number of one-act ballets: “Zhusan” by K. Shildebayev (2014), “Carmen” by G. Bizet – R. Shchedrin (2015), “Language of Love” by R. Salavatov, K. Jenkins, H. Shangaliyev (2016); choreographic miniatures: “Scythian Frescoes”, “Touch”, “Dreams of Kyz Zhibek”, “Eclipse”, which aroused great interest of the viewers in Kazakhstan and many foreign countries.
Since 2017, she is the chief ballet master of the “Astana Ballet” Theatre. Author of the ballets: “Salome” to music by F. Say (2018), “Sultan Baibars” by H. Shangaliyev and A. Alpiyev (2020), “Arcana of Fate” by K. Abdullina (2021), “Silk Road” by A. Amar, R. Gaisin, V. Ivanoff, O. F. Tekbilek (2021).
Awards: Holder of the State Scholarship of the First President of Kazakhstan N.A. Nazarbayev in the field of culture in different years. Winner of the “Umai” award (2022) in the nomination “Best Choreographer”, and M. Avakhri’s ballet “Silk Road” was awarded the Theater Critics’ Prize in 2022 as “Ballet of the Year”.
