KADYROVA Mayra Shafkatovna
Biography
(17.11.1957, Alma-Ata) – ballet soloist, teacher. Honored Artist of the Kazakh SSR (1984), Holder of the “Kurmet” Order (2021).
In 1967 she was enrolled to the Almaty Choreographic School in the class of Zh.T. Tastanova. From 1968- 1976 she studied at Moscow Academic Choreographic School at the Bolshoi Theater, class of the Honorary Art-st of RSFSR Litavkina L. S. Then she graduated from the Kazakh State Women’s Pedagogical Institute on specialty “Teacher Choreographer” (1994-1998).
1976-1997 – soloist, then prima ballerina at the Abay State Opera and Ballet Theatre. She performed the leading roles of the theatre’s classical repertoire: Kitri in “Don Quixote”, Odette- Odile in “Swan Lake”, Aurora in “The Sleeping Beauty”, Masha in “The Nutcracker”, Lise in “La Fille mal gardee”, Zarema in “The Fountain of Bakhchisarai”, Giselle, Sylphide and Raymonda in the ballets of the same title. Also in the repertoire of the ballerina there are original performances by Kazakh choreographers: “Frescoes” (Shamkhat), “Spartacus” (Aegina), “Francesca da Rimini” (Francesca), “Man and Woman” (Woman), “Romeo and Juliet” (Juliet) choreographed by Z. Raibayev; “My brother, Mowgli” (Sinta), “Aksak Kulan” (Barshagul), “Eternal Flame” (Beloved), “Lady of the Camellias” (Violetta) choreographed by M. Tleubayev, “Renaissance” (Juliet) by Z. Baidaralin etc.
The ballerina’s talent was particularly brightly expressed in the romantic ballets, in which she found her emotional intonation – airy, and poetically enlightened.
1998-2015 – teacher of classical dance, since 2007 – Artistic director of the A. V. Seleznev ACS;
2004-2006 – teacher of choreographic disciplines of the T. K. Zhurgenov KazNAA;
2007 – teacher-tutor of the ballet school “Artists Home Village” (Japan);
Since 2015 she has been a teacher-tutor of the “Astana Ballet” Theatre.
She made a significant contribution to the formation of the Kazakh performing school. Among the students there are the Honored Figures of Kazakhstan, leading soloists of the theaters in Kazakhstan, Russia, Germany, Laurates and Holders of the Diplomas of the International ballet competitions: A. Rustemova, A. Zakan, B. Zhanburchinova, D. Shomayeva, N. Nursafina and others.
Awards: Honorary Worker of Education of the RK (2009), “Veteran of Labor of Kazakhstan” (2015).
