Biography

16.12.1934, Guryev - 18.03.1997, Almaty.

Ballet dancer, teacher. Honored Artist of the KazSSR (1966).

1941-1944 - after the early death of his parents, he was a pupil of the Kaskelen orphanage. 1944-1953 - graduated from Kazakh State Choreographic School (KSCS). During the period of study, at the insistence of his teacher A.V. Seleznev, being the student of the high school he already worked at the Abay SAOBT. In 1950, as a member of the group of KSCS students, he took part in the All-Union Review of Choreographic Schools in Moscow. In 1952, together with S. Kusherbayeva, Z. Raibayev, S. Tulusanova, he studied in the upgrading class at the Leningrad State Choreographic School, but later he returned and completed his education in Alma-Ata.

1953-1981 - Abay SAOBT, ballet dancer, ballet soloist. Repertoire: Vaslav, Nurali ("The Fountain of Bakhchisarai"), pas-de-troix in act I ("Swan Lake"), Basil, The Bat ("Don Quixote"), Dima (Youth), Sabyr (first performance, "On the Way of Friendship”), Ali (“On the Way of Friendship”), Vanechka (“Doctor Aibolit”), Volka (“Old Man Hottabych”), Murat (first performance, “Kambar and Nazim”), Prince Desire, Blue Bird (“Sleeping Beauty ”), Almas (first performance, “Coast of Happiness”), Shurale (first performance, “Shurale”), Shaitan (“Shurale”), Gianciotto (“Francesca da Rimini”), pas-de-deux in act I (“Giselle”), Bacchus (“Walpurgis Night”), solo in dances staged in the opera performances “Kyz-Zhibek”, “Birzhan and Sara”, “Er-Targyn”, “Abay”, etc.

On December 23, 1958 at the final concert of the Decade of Kazakh Art and Literature in Moscow on the stage of the Bolshoi Theatre of the USSR with S. Kusherbayeva he performed an adagio from the ballet "On the Way of Friendship".

He combined his solo career with pedagogical work at the Abay SAOBT (until November 28, 1980) and at the Alma-Ata Choreographic School.

He made a great contribution to the development of Kazakhstani ballet, largely defining the culture of male dance performance.

Awards: "Badge of Honor" Order (1959), Jubilee Medal "For Valiant Labor" in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of V. I. Lenin (1970).
