ALTAI FOLK DANCE ENSEMBLE

Biography

The Folk Dance Ensemble "Altai" was created in 2020 at the initiative of the Akim of the EKR in the SE "Ertis concert" of the Department of Culture of the EKR (Oskemen). The Head of the group is a teacher-choreographer of the highest category Timur Kozhakhmetov.

The ensemble's repertoire is diverse and includes folk dances, contemporary and modern choreography. The ensemble is an active participant in the Republican and International competitions: I Prize of the I Republican online choreography competition, which was held as part of the celebration of the 175th anniversary of Abai, the 95th anniversary of Nurgisa Tlendiev and the 90th anniversary of Shamshi Kaldayakov (Oskemen, 2020); I degree of the International Competition of National Culture "Palette of Friendship" (Barnaul, Russia, 2021); nomination “Uzdik Uzhym” for participation in the mega-project “JETI QAZYNA”, organized by the agency “TV channel “Khabar”, JSC “Khabar” (Astana, 2022); Diploma winner of the UMAI-2022 National Award in the nomination "Choreographic Art", "Best Dance Group" (Astana, 2022); III place in the nomination "Ensemble" at the Shara Zhienkulova VI Republican Kazakh Dance Competition (Astana, 2023).
