Biography
Ballet in 2 acts.
Composer - Gaziza Zhubanova. Libretto - Azerbaijan Mambetov, Georgy Aleksidze, based on the drama of the same title by Mukhtar Auezov. Choreography and staging - Georgy Aleksidze (Tbilisi, Georgia), Lyailya Mambetova. Production Designer - Yuri Gegeshidze (Tbilisi, Georgia). Production conductor - Valery Rutter.
The premiere took place on September 16, 1990 at the Abay SAOBT.
Characters and performers: Karagoz - Gulzhan Tutkibayeva, Mayra Kadyrova; Syrym - Erbolat Asylgazinov, Bakhytzhan Smagulov; Narsha - Askar Nusupov, Murat Tukeyev; Morzhan - Alma Askarbekova, Gulnar Aliyeva; Akbala - Saule Ashimova, Maira Tukeyeva.
Karagoz and Syrym fell in love with each other from the first meeting. However, the girl is betrothed to another young man - Narsha. Karagoz’s severe and bossy grandmother Morzhan told her about this. Karagoz rejects Narsha's feelings. The angry young man takes revenge on the girl - together with his friends, he beats Syrym. In anger for disobedience to the will of the elders, Morzhan curses her granddaughter. Karagoz loses her mind.
Syrym finds his beloved. He is shocked - Karagoz is insane. Morzhan in the guise of death leads Karagoz away from Syrym. A song is born in the soul of a desperate young man, like a hymn to all-conquering love - the only immortal feeling on earth.

It is staged on the basis of the drama of the same title by Mukhtar Auezov. Music - Gaziza Zhubanova. Author of libretto, choreographer, stage director - Vakil Usmanov (Austria). Conductor, author of musical edition - Abzal Mukhitdin. Conductor - Arman Urazgaliev. Production designers - Sofiya Tasmagambetova, Pavel Dragunov. Lighting designer - Dmitry Simkin. Assistant choreographer - Sergei Khaylik.
The production was staged for the Astana Opera Theatre, premiered on December 5, 2014.

In the center of the plot there is the love between the beautiful girl Karagoz and akyn Syrym. But they are not destined to be together, at the insistence of the grandmother, the granddaughter must marry the rich Narsha. The attempt of the young people to oppose Kazakh traditions and find love is choreographically conveyed, the intervention of the relatives in the fate of the young people leads to tragedy. The performance became the first national ballet in the creative collection of the young theater of the capital.
