Biography

1978 - Graduate of the A. Ya. Vaganova Leningrad Choreographic School in the class of I. Zubkovskaya. Graduated from the Pedagogical Faculty of the A. Ya. Vaganova ARB, in specialty "Teacher-choreographer" (2000).
1978-2000 - after graduating from the choreographic school, she was accepted to the troupe of the S. M. Kirov Leningrad Opera and Ballet Theater (Mariinsky), where, under the guidance of a teacher-tutor O. Moiseyeva, she passed the way from a corps de ballet dancer to a prima ballerina. An extensive repertoire, from performances of classical heritage to iconic ballets by neoclassical and modern masters. A ballerina of a lyrical and dramatic role, her dance was distinguished by the beauty of lines and expressive acting. One of the brightest ballerinas of the Mariinsky Theater at the end of the XX century.
During this period, she was invited to work as a guest star in the theaters of Covent Garden, the Grand Opera, La Scala, the Marseille Theater of Roland Petit, ABT (American Ballet Theatre) etc., where A. Asylmuratova successfully collaborated with outstanding choreographers of the world ballet: R. Petit, K. MacMillan, M. Bejart, J. Robbins, M. Baryshnikov and others.
1995 - in the UK she was awarded the prestigious theater award "Evening Standard Theater Awards" for her achievements in the London theater.
1999 - for the performance of the role of Carmen in the ballet by Roland Petit she was awarded the theater award "Golden Soffit".
After completing her ballet career, she began teaching activities. For 14 years (1999-2013) she was the Vice-Rector and Artistic Director of the A.Ya. Vaganova ARB.
2013-2014 - Advisor to the General Director on Ballet at the Mikhailovsky Theatre.
2015 - she was invited to Kazakhstan, to the "Astana Opera" SOBT as a teacher-tutor, and then artistic director of the ballet troupe. On the stage of the theater she staged the ballets "La Bayadère" and "Don Quixote" by L. Minkus, "Le Corsaire" and "Giselle" by A. Adam, "Swan Lake" by P. Tchaikovsky, "The Fountain of Bakhchisarai" by B. Asafyev, as well as concert performances.
2016 - the first Rector of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography in Astana. Artistic director since 2022.
Awards: Laureate of the State Award of the RF in the field of literature and art (2001), is awarded the Order of Friendship (Russia, 2013), holder of the Parasat Order (RK, 2016).
