Musical-dramatic play in 3 acts.

The performance was created by the artists of the music studio at the Kazakh State Drama Theater (Alma-Ata) based on the folk dance melodies arranged by Ivan Kotsyk. Libretto - Mukhtar Auezov. Choreography and staging - Ali Ardobus: dances "Karazhorga", "Kelinshek", the shaman dance, "Uzbek dance" and concert number "Chansonette". The theatralization of the traditional hunting game "Koyan- Berkut" was carried out by the head of the ballet unit M.P. Artsibasheva. Stage directors - Kurmanbek Zhandarbekov, Zhumat Shanin. Orchestration - Sergey Shabelsky. Production conductor - Fyodor Kuzmich.

On January 13, 1934 on the stage of the Kazakh State Drama Theater for the first time the curtain of the Kazakh Musical Theater, which did not yet have its own building (now - the Abay KazNOBT) was opened by the performance "Aiman-Sholpan".

The play is based on a social-domestic epic based on real historical events - the internecine struggle between Maman Bai from the Tama clan and the batyr Kotibar from the Shekty clan. The girl Aiman frees herself and her sister Sholpan from captivity and reconciles the warring clans.
