Biography

Ballet in 2 acts, 7 scenes.

Music: the works by Ludwig van Beethoven (including the famous Ninth Symphony with participation of the choir), as well as Johann-Sebastian Bach, Joseph Haydn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, modern compositions and arrangements by Dirk Haubrich. Author of libretto and choreographer: Raimondo Rebeck. Conductor: Abzal Mukhitdin. Set designer and author of the lighting design concept: Yoko Seyama, assistant lighting designer: Valerio Tiberi. Costume designer: Rosa Ana Chanza. Assistant costume designer: Arasel Dosmuratova. Projection designer: Sergio Metalli.

The production was staged for the Astana Opera Theatre, the premiere took place on February 14-15, 2020.

Characters and performers: Beethoven - Bakhtiyar Adamzhan, Daler Zaparov; Love - Aigerim Beketayeva, Mariko Kitamura; Euterpe - Gaukhar Ussina, Assel Shaikenova; Illness - Olzhas Makhanbetaliyev, Serik Nakyspekov.

The ballet was staged in honor of the 250th anniversary of L. Beethoven, and represents a large-scale performance on the theme of the dramatic life path of a musical genius. The choreographer created the dramatic framework of the ballet, on which the most significant events from the composer's life were built, by introducing fictitious symbolic images.
