Biography
CHERNYSHEVA Lydia Demyanovna (23.05.1912, Berdyansk, Zaporozhye region - 23.09.1975, Simferopol) - dancer, choreographer- ballet master. People's Artist of the KazSSR (1957), People's Artist of the USSR (1967).
She graduated from Leningrad Choreographic School (1929), worked as a ballet dancer and ballet master at Kharkov Musical Comedy Theater, and organized the first song and dance ensemble in Chernigov (1936).
In 1938-1939, she was the artistic director of the Ukrainian State Song and Dance Ensemble; in 1939-1945, she directed song and dance ensembles that performed on the South Transcaucasia and 1st Ukrainian fronts.
In the period 1955-1970 she was the director and artistic director of the Kazakh Song and Dance Ensemble. L.D. Chernysheva made a huge contribution to the development of professional choreographic art in Kazakhstan. Her vocal and choreographic compositions: “At the foot of Alatau”, “On a halt”, “Girls-swans”, “Girl-water carrier” received recognition from the audience and became the hallmark of the ensemble.
Awards: Holder of the Lenin Order (1959); Order of the Patriotic War, 2nd degree (1944); Two Orders of the Red Labor Banner; Order of Peoples Friendship (1974); the Red Star Order (1943); Two Orders "Badge of Honor" (1948 and 1950); Order of the Romania Star; Medal "For Valiant Labor". "In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin”; Medal "For the victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945"; Medal "For the Liberation of Prague"
