TOMIRIS DANCE ENSEMBLE
Biography
The ensemble was created in 2001 in the SE "Kyzylorda Regional Philharmonic" of the Department of Culture, Archives and Documentation of the Kyzylorda Region. The head and ballet master of the ensemble is Gulbanu Murzabayeva. Since 2020, the artistic director of the ensemble is M. Toybazarova, the chief ballet master is G. Murzabayeva.
The ensemble's repertory fund includes about 100 dance performances, where Kazakh folk dances occupy a special place. Choreographic compositions by G. Myrzabayeva are dedicated to the history and traditional culture of the Kazakh people. The dances “Worhsip of Tengri”, “Saka Beauties”, “Saltanat”, “Akku-Kyz” were awarded Prizes at competitions and festivals of various levels. The team invites the well-known specialists and young choreographers of the region (Z. Azhibekova, N. Tayir, B. Agiyar, and others) to stage the performances.
The creative team is an active participant in various cultural events: the caravan of arts "Orynbor-Akmeshit-Almaty-Astana" - the parade "20 starry days" as part of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Independence of Kazakhstan (2011); concerts in major cities of Turkey during the Nauryz holiday (Eskisehir, Istanbul, 2013); 60th anniversary of the Baikonyr Cosmodrome (2013); a festive event dedicated to the 550th anniversary of the Kazakh Khanate (Taraz, 2015); Arts Festival in the framework of the International Organization "TURKSOY", dedicated to the Great Day of the Turkic-speaking countries in Turkey (March 20-26, 2016) and US cities (New York, Washington, March 27-April 3, 2016); "EXPO-2017" (Astana); Sheikh Zayed International Festival (Abu Dhabi, UAE, 2018, 2019).
The Ensemble is the Laureate of the III Prize of the International Festival of Creative Youth "Shabyt" (Astana, 2002); Diploma winnerof the SharaZhienkulova III Republican competition of Kazakh dance(Uralsk, 2006); Laureate of the I Prize at the II International Festival "Harman - Folklore" (Antalya, Turkey, 2011); Laureate of the II Prize of the Shara Zhienkulova VI Republican competition of Kazakh dance (Astana, 2023).
