Biography

04.04.1968, Semipalatinsk.

Ballet dancer, actress, director-choreographer, teacher. Honored Figure of Kazakhstan (2022).

She graduated from Almaty Choreographic School on specialty "Artist of the Dance Ensemble" in the class of O.B. Shubladze (1978-1986); the T.K. Zhurgenov Kazakh State Institute of Theater and Cinema, specialty "Director-Choreographer", workshop of B.G. Ayukhanov (1994-1999). During the period 1999-2022, she completed an internship and master classes in modern choreography from the famous choreographers of the world: Katri Soni (Finland), Laurence Levasul (France), Pascaline Noel (France), Josef Kocourek (Czech Republic), Jan Push (Germany), Michael Diekamp (Germany), "Random" (Great Britain), Sasha Gurvich "Okoem" (Russia); 2002-2003 - master classes in acting skills by Jacques Burgaud (France), Markus Zohner (Germany); 2004 - at the Higher School of Choreography "Palucca Schule" (Dresden, Germany).

1988-1994 - ballet dancer of the State Song and Dance Ensemble of the KazSSR (SDE "Saltanat"); 1994-2007 - soloist of the State Academic Dance Theater of the RK headed by B. Ayukhanov, in parallel she participated in the performances of the State Academic German Theater as a dramatic actress (2000-2007).

1999-2006 - director-choreographer of the SADT RK. Productions: "Geometry of Feelings" (1999), "Deja vu" (2000), "Miracolo" (2001), "The Story of a Woman" (2002), "Untitled" (2003), "Neighbors" (2003), "Time" (2004), "Female Dogs" (2004), "Tamyr" (2004), "Male Dogs" (2005), "Dog's Life" (2006), " C'estmasoeur" (2006).

In 2007 together with her sister Gulnara Gabbasova, she organized the Gabbasov Sisters Company, which included the Gabbasov Sisters Dance Theater and a choreographic studio for children and adults (2009-2019). Productions of this period: "Cleaners" (2007), "Illusion of love or ..." (2008), "Without words" (2009), "Three colors" (2010), "Angels" (2010), "A Drop of Happiness" (2010), "Exicus" (Dance Theater "Samruk", 2011), "Look" (2011), "Shadow which never existed" (2011), "People of our city" (2011 .), "Audimachine" (2011), "The Little Wizard Yerlik Baka" (2012), "Narkyz" (2012), "Three Colors" (2013, second edition), "Feelings" (2013), "Podium" (2014), "The Birth of Romance" (2014), "Alpamys Batyr" (2015).

Director-choreographer in the International projects, director of choreographic episodes in drama performances: “Salome” (director O. Khojakuliyev (Uzbekistan), 2003); "Education of God" (director A. Oster (Germany), 2004); Macbeth (director Jeff Church (England), 2004); "Worlds in Transitions" (director C. Feutrier (France), 2005); “Clowns” (director C. Feutrier (France), Artishoke Theatre, 2006), “You are me. Kill me” (director Andrey Lazarev (Germany, 2020).

1992-2013 - teacher of folk stage dance and modern choreography at the A.V. Seleznev Almaty Choreographic School. Since 2000, she has been teaching at the Department of Ballet Master Art, Faculty of Choreography of the T.K. Zhurgenov KazNAA, since September 2022 - holds the position of the Dean of the Choreographic Faculty.

In different years, she created choreographic compositions, concert programs for the Abay SAOBT, the A.V. Seleznev ACS, the State Variety and Youth Ensemble "Gulder", the Dance Ensemble "Altyn Bubi".

Choreographer in feature films: "My dear children" (director Zh. Isabayeva, 2008), "Uranium Typhoon" (director I. Vovnyanko, 2010), "Astana - my love" (director I. Piskunov, 2011).
