GAKKU FOLK DANCE ENSEMBLE

Biography

The ensemble was created in 2007 in the SE "Ukili Ybyray Akmola Regional Philharmonic" of the Department of Culture of the Akmola region. The Head of the ensemble is Gulmira Ordabayeva, holder of the badge "Excellence in culture".

The ensemble's repertoire includes more than 50 dances, including Kazakh folk dances and dances of the world's peoples. Honored figure of Kazakhstan Zaure Azhibekova made a great contribution to the development of the ensemble's repertoire. Her dances "Syilyk", "Akku", "Baktyshylar", "Shattyk", "Turkmen Bi", "Konakzhay Kurbylar", "Merekelik Bi" are very popular with the audience. The following choreographers took part in the updating of the repertoire: A. Sadykova ("Tuma"), A. Shamshiyev ("Kokshe sululary"), G. Bakharova ("Dolan bi").

The team is a participant in the International festivals: Turkey (Amasya, 2012; Kemer, 2019), India (New Delhi, 2014), UAE (Al Fujairah, 2018; Sharjah, 2019), Northern Cyprus (Kyrenia, 2018), China (Urumqi, 2018), Tajikistan (Dushanbe, 2022).

The ensemble is a participant in major cultural events in the RK: TV project "Aimaktar alamany" (Astana, 2013); 550th anniversary of the Kazakh Khanate (Astana, 2015); Days of Culture of the Akmola region at EXPO-2017 (Astana); XV Forum of Interregional Cooperation of Kazakhstan and Russia (Petropavlovsk, 2018); II International Festival of Ethnic Music Jezkik, Ulytau (2019), I Republican TV Art Festival "Salem Elorda" (Nur-Sultan, 2020); Republican art festival "Salem Elorda" (Kokshetau, 2021).

The ensemble is the holder of a Special Prize of the Rector of KazNUA Aiman Musakhodzhayeva "Umit" of the Shara Zhienkulova IV Republican competition of Kazakh dance (Astana, 2012); Laureate of the X International Festival of Creative Youth "Shabyt" (Astana, 2013); Laureate of the I Prize and the holder of the Special Prize "Highly professional team" of the II International Festival-competition of choreographic art "Roses of Kazakhstan" (Nur-Sultan, 2016, Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan, 2021); winner of the II Prize of the Shara Zhienkulova V Republican competition of Kazakh dance (Nur-Sultan, 2019); Laureate of the I degree of the choreographic competition "Summer music and dance fest" (Nur-Sultan, 2020), holder of a Diploma for directing and creating ensemble choreography of the R.V. Zakharov XII International Competition of Young Choreographers "Maria" (Moscow, Russia, 2020); winner of the Grand Prix of the competition "Karelian Tales" (online competition. Karelia, 2021); Laureate of the I Prize in the nomination "Folk stylization" of the International Competition of Choreographic Art "Dancemania" (Astana, 2022).
