Composer - Aida Isakova. Libretto, choreography and staging - Bulat Ayukhanov.
The premiere took place in the P. Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow in 1972. The ballet was staged for the SECD under the direction of Bulat Ayukhanov.
Characters and first performers: Hamlet - Bulat Ayukhanov; Gertrude - Nadezhda Pivnitskaya, Sairagul Nursultanova; Claudius - Alexei Semyanov; Ophelia - Tatyana Anyushenko; Polonius and Laertes - Ilgizar Akhmetshin.
The ballet is based on the image of a widely gifted personality who aimed to unmask the inhabitants of Elsinore Castle. The events in the ballet develop rapidly: the grieving Hamlet, who has not cooled down from shock due to the sudden death of his father; the insidious new king Claudius, his hasty coronation. Hamlet swears to take revenge on Claudius for the murder; Hamlet denounces the shamelessness of the mother, the cynicism of Claudius, the outright espionage of Polonius. The first act is a gallery of portraits, events related to the coronation of Claudius and the story of the Ghost of the late king. The second act - Hamlet in decisive action.
