Biography
On August 1, 1967, at the State Creative Association "Kazakhconcert", the classical dance ensemble"Young Ballet of Alma-Ata" was created, a professional group of ballet soloists - graduates of the ACS: T. Anyushenko, N. Pivnitskaya, N. Karboinova, A. Semyanov, B. Eshmukhambetov, M. Tleubayev, V. Usmanov, A. Tyagunov. Bulat Ayukhanov is the founder and permanent leader of the "Young Ballet of Alma-Ata" Ensemble.
In 1964-1966 B. Ayukhanov, together with the leading soloist of the theatre Inessa Manskaya, organizes the "Theatre of Two Actors", which became the starting point for the ensemble "Young Ballet of Alma-Ata". Some numbers of the program “Pages of the Kazakh epic” which were created by them and a concert divertissement to the music of Russian and Western composers were subsequently included into the repertoire of the “Young Ballet of Alma-Ata”. Until 1984, the People's Artist of the Kazakh SSR I. I. Manskaya was the teacher-tutor of the ensemble.
In 1971, the team was awarded the title "Laureate of the Prize of the Lenin Komsomol of Kazakhstan". In 1975 the ensemble was renamed into the State Classical Dance Ensemble of the Kazakh SSR. In 1998 it was awarded the title "Academic", in 2003 it became the "State Academic Dance Theater of the Republic of Kazakhstan".
Revealing the talent and capabilities of each artist, developing the traditions of the world choreography, B.G. Ayukhanov created an ensemble in which there is no corps de ballet, each artist is a bright creative individuality. Artistic director, director, author of the libretto B. Ayukhanov is constantly expanding the genre repertoire of the group. The master of choreographic miniatures impresses with his stage longevity as a performer as well.
Talented, strong-willed artists of different generations - S. Nursultanova, B. Eshmukhametov, I. Akhmetshin, K. Asyrbekova, Zh. Baidaralin, V. Kurmasheva, S. Tikhonov, R. Ungarova, N. Goncharova, V. Goncharov, M. Tukeyev, G. Akylbekova, G. Mikhaleva, Yu. Moiseyeva, R. Saifulin, G. Kokambayeva (Tlesbayeva), S. Kokshinova, G. Gafurova, R. Musin, G. Kamalova, A. Turginbayeva are the backbone of the troupe of different years. The like-minded persons of the ballet master strive for development, looking for perfection. Ballet masters, teachers-tutors R. Ungarova, G. Mikhaleva, S. Tikhonov, R. Musin, G. Kamalova, A. Karymbayeva, Zh. Kartamysov provided great creative assistance to the artistic director.
For the period 1965-2022, more than 30 original ballet productions, 60 choreographic miniatures and concert numbers were staged.

Tchaikovsky); "Trap" (music by A. Musrepov); “Song to a Woman” (to the music of Kazakhstani composers); “Secretary” (miniature to the music by A. Schnittke); "Piano Concerto No.1" (P. Tchaikovsky); "Kuanamyn" (M. Yerzhanov); "Ak-sisa" (folk music); "Shashu" (Y. Brusilovsky); "Waltz" ("Seven Beauties" by K. Karayev); "Rhapsody in Blue" (G. Gershwin); "Ondine" (M. Ravel); "Aizhan-kyz" (folk music); "Salome" (M. Livshits); "Second Piano Concerto" - 1st part (S. Rachmaninoff) etc.
After the death of B.G. Ayukhanov, the theatre is headed by the chief ballet master G. Sh. Gafurova, director - T. N. Karatayev.
