EURASIAN DANCE FESTIVAL INTERNATIONAL BALLET FESTIVAL

Biography

The festival was established by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the RK and the Foundation for Development and Support of Ballet and National Dance. The purpose of the festival is to present the author's choreography through the works of contemporary choreographers who work in different styles and have found a unique language. The aim and objectives: development and popularization of the art of classical dance and modern choreographic styles; improvement of performance skills, formation of sustainable interest in choreographic art; development of the aesthetic taste of the viewers of Kazakhstan through the acquaintance with the features of various choreographic schools of the world.

The festival was held 3 times.

The I Eurasian Ballet Festival was held on June 24-29, 2017 as part of the International Specialized Exhibition EXPO-2017 in Astana on the stage of the SOBT "Astana Opera". Program director - Vasily Medvedev; consultant - Stanislav Fecho; executive director -Zhanibek Kaiyr; official ballet critic -Francos Farki; official photographer - Jacques Eniste. Participants: Korean ballet company "Universal Ballet"; dance group from the USA "Rock The Ballet"; Ballet troupe of the SOBT "Astana Opera"; "Astana Ballet" theater. World ballet stars: principal dancer and prima ballerina of the Berlin Opera Mikhail Kaniskin and Eliza Cabrera; prima ballerina of the Royal Ballet Iana Salenko; principal dancer and prima ballerina of the Bolshoi Theater Semyon Chudin and Olga Smirnova; principal dancer of the Bavarian Opera Osiel Guneo.

The II Eurasian Ballet Festival was held on June 24-30, 2018 on the stage of the "Astana Ballet" theater as part of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the capital. Director - Alisher Khasanov. The works of contemporary choreographers from China, Spain, Slovenia and Kazakhstan were presented at the II Festival: National Ballet of Slovenia (Ljubljana); Castro Pomero Flamenco (Madrid, Spain); National Ballet of China (Beijing); ballet troupe of the Abay SAOBT (Almaty, Kazakhstan); "Astana Ballet" theater. The stars of the world ballet performed at the festival: principal dancer of the American Ballet Theatre, Honored Artist of Russia Ivan Vasiliev; Honored Artist of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, prima ballerina of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia Anastasia Stashkevich; principal dancer and prima ballerina of the Stuttgart State Ballet Friedemann Vogel and Maria Eichwald; prima ballerina the Netherlands Ballet Maia Makhateli; principal dancer and prima ballerina of National Ballet of Portugal Carlos Pinillos and Philippa de Castro; principal dancer, leading soloist and soloist of the ballet of the "Astana Opera" theater B. Adamzhan, M. Basbayeva, E. Rakhmatullayev; leading soloists of the "Astana Ballet" theater F. Buriyev, R. Kanatkyzy.

The III Eurasian Ballet Festival was held on June 4-16, 2019 at the “Astana Ballet” theatre. The director of the program is Vasily Medvedev. Participants: Pavel Virsky Ukrainian National Dance Ensemble; Japan International Ballet Company; ballet group of the Mariinsky Theater (Russia); Czech National Ballet; ballet troupe of the SOBT "Astana Opera"; "Astana Ballet" theatre. Stars of the world ballet: principal dancer of the Mikhailovsky Theater Leonid Sarafanov; principal dancer and soloist of the “Astana Opera” theatre B. Adamzhan and A. Beketayeva; leading soloists of the Berlin State Ballet Marian Walter, Evelina Godunova and Yolanda Correa Frias; as well as the leading soloists of the "Astana Ballet" theatre A. Abilgazina, Buriyev F., M. Kadyrkulova, I. Manaenkov.
