Biography
KOKSHINOVA Svetlana Yurievna (03.08.1970, Talgar, Almaty region) - ballet dancer, teacher. Honored Figure of Kazakhstan (2003), awarded with the medal "Eren Enbegi Ushin" (2000), Laureate of the International competition of ballet dancers "Arabesque" (Perm, RF, 1992).
Graduated with honors from Moscow Academic Choreographic School (1980-1988) on specialty "Ballet Dancer", teachers: L.A. Kolenchenko, L.I. Bogomolova (Nikonova); the T.K. Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts (1999-2003) on specialty "Teacher-Choreographer". In 2021 graduated from the South Ural State Humanitarian and Pedagogical University (Chelyabinsk), was conferred an academic Master's degree.
1988-2016 - leading soloist of the State Classical Dance Ensemble of the RK headed by B. Ayukhanov). She performed a large number of leading roles in classical ballets and modern performances, including: Odette-Odile ("Swan Lake"), Carmen ("Carmen", Anna ("Anna Karenina"), Masha ("The Nutcracker"), Myrtha ("Giselle”), Gertrude (“Hamlet-Prince of Denmark”), Herodias (“Salome”), soloist in “Bolero” by M. Ravel, “Chopiniana” by F. Chopin - “Prelude”, “The Seventh Waltz”, etc. Concert numbers: "The Dying Swan" by C. Saint-Saens, "Red-White" by G. Mahler etc. staged by B. Ayukhanov. Participated in numerous festivals abroad and in Kazakhstan, often went on tour to different countries of the world: England, Cuba, Morocco, Switzerland, UAE, Turkey, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan.
2012-2016 - teacher of the department "Pedagogy of Choreography" of the T.K. Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts; September 2016-November 2017 - Dean of the Faculty of Choreography of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography; since December 2017 - Head of the school-college of technical and vocational education of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography. She is involved in the extensive pedagogical and rehearsal activity, her students are actively involved in the stage practice of the Academy and repertory performances of the leading theaters "Astana Opera" and "Astana Ballet". She conducted a master class on classical dance for junior, middle and senior classes at the "Sofia" Ballet School in Japan (2019).
