LEGENDS OF THE GREAT STEPPE
Biography
Ballet in 2 acts.
Music by Kazakh composers: Gaziza Zhubanova, Tles Kazhgaliev, Mynzhasar Mangitayev, Mansur Sagatov, Almas Serkebayev, Nurgisa Tlendiyev, Adil Bestybayev. Libretto, choreography and staging - Gulzhan Tutkibayeva. Production designers - Pavel Dragunov, Sofiya Tasmagambetova. Production conductor - Yerbolat Akhmedyarov.
The premiere took place on June 20-21, 2015 on the stage of the Abay SAOBT, dedicated to the celebration of the 550th anniversary of the Kazakh Khanate.

The Sultan of one of the most powerful uluses, wishing to strengthen the position of his people, decides to give his only daughter to marry the most worthy warrior. The whole steppe is excited by the news. The only one who is indifferent to everything that happens is the Sultan’s daughter. She plays with her friends in the steppe, where she meets a Young Batyr who hunts a roe deer. Filled with a bright feeling, young people take an oath of allegiance to each other. However, the scouts of the foreign army kidnap the Daughter of the Sultan from her father's headquarters.
The leader of a foreign army starts a bloody war in response to the girl's refusal to marry him. The spirit of the steppe warns the Young Batyr about a foreign invasion. The Great Battle takes place, the enemy is defeated. The lovers find their happiness and the people, rejoicing, glorify the Young Batyr, who became the Great Khan of the Great Steppe.
