Biography
(22.07.1951, Kaskelen, Almaty region - 15.02.2022, Astana) - ballet dancer, teacher, choreographer. Honored Figure of Kazakhstan (2006), holder of the "Kurmet" Order (2015).
1970 - graduated from the ACS, class of M. Muntin.
2002 - graduated from T. Zhurgenov KazNAA, specialty "Director-choreographer", studio of Z. Raibayev. Diploma work: B. Asafyev's ballet "The Fountain of Bakhchisarai" on the stage of the K. Baiseitova NOBT.
1970-2000 - artist, soloist of the Abay SAOBT. Bright appearance, combined with expressive plasticity, allowed the artist to embody images from romance and heroism to the grotesque. Repertoire: Young man (Chopiniana), Paolo ("Francesca da Rimini"); Vaslav, Girey ("Fountain of Bakhchisarai"); Evil Genius ("Swan Lake"); Spartacus, Crassus ("Spartacus"); Gurn, Madge ("Sylphide"); Abderakhman ("Raymonda"), Espada ("Don Quixote"); Mowgli, Shere Khan ("My brother, Mowgli"); Kerbuga ("Aksak-Kulan"), Centaur, Sary-Kene ("Frescoes"), Tartaglia ("Pulcinella").
2000 - chief ballet master of the K. Baiseitova NOBT (Astana). Being the head of the ballet troupe, in a short time he trained up a whole galaxy of artists and soloists from yesterday's graduates, who later won the titles of the Diploma winners and Laureates at various International ballet competitions.
Since 2006 - member of the International Association of choreographers and member of the International Competitions of ballet dancers and choreographers. As a member of the jury, he has often taken part in the most prestigious ballet art forums in New York, Moscow, Varna, Rome, Beijing, Istanbul, Seoul, Budapest, Perm, Sochi, Krasnoyarsk, and Ulaanbaatar. Repeatedly headed ballet competitions and festivals in Astana.
2013 - artistic director of the "Astana Opera" theatre, since 2015 - director of the ballet troupe. Under his leadership, the capital's ballet of Kazakhstan established itself in the status of a highly professional ballet troupe, and the choreographer himself entered the circle of the most famous figures in the world of ballet art. During the leadership period, he actively developed the cooperation of the Kazakh ballet with famous choreographers, among which the People's Artist of the USSR Yu. Grigorovich, Honored Artist of Russia S. Vikharev, People's Artist of Bashkortostan Sh. Teregulov, Director of the Rome Academy of Dance M. Parilla, B. Eifman, C. Jude.
As a choreographer, he staged the ballets: "The Nutcracker" (NOBT, 2004); "Giselle" (2005), "Walpurgis Night" and "Swan Lake" Act 2 (Karaganda Academic Theater of Musical Comedy, 2006); "La Bayadère" (NOBT, 2006) jointly with G. Buribayeva; "Walpurgis Night" (NOBT, 2009); "Swan Lake" ("Astana Opera" , 2014) and "The Fountain of Bakhchisarai"(Astana Opera, 2015) jointly with G. Buribayeva.
Choreography for the operas: "Birzhan and Sara" (NOBT, 2006, SAMSUN DEVLET OPERA VE BALESI, Istanbul, 2014); "Kamar-Sulu" (NOBT, 2009); "Abay" (NOBT 2008); "Aida" ("Astana Opera", 2015); "Abay" (“Astana Opera”, 2014) and Alpamys ("Astana Opera", 2021) jointly with G. Buribayeva.
