WANDERINGS OF KORKYT

Biography

One-act ballet.

The production was staged for the SADT RK under the direction of Bulat Ayukhanov, which premiered on June 21, 2019 on the stage of the Abay SAOBT.

Music of Korkyt, Ykylas and folklore-ethnographic ensemble "Turan". Solo on kobyz was performed by M. Medeubek. Libretto author and director-choreographer D. Urazymbetov, costume designer L. Vozzhenikova, scenographic media content P. Salavatova.

Characters and performers: Korkyt - Diyar Akenev; Angel - Madi Kasymov; Vision Girl - Aya Melis; Snake- Ainur Mukasheva.

The play, based on folk legends, touches on various aspects of human existence. The life path of the protagonist of the ballet opens up four paths for him, where he meets circumstances that in a certain way destroy the spiritual world of the individual. Overcoming doubts and disappointments, wandering from the Middle Ages to the present, Korkyt finds the true path to perfection and eternal life, becoming one of the first baksy-shamans, the progenitor of kobyz.
