THE ENCHANTED LAKE

Biography

Ballet-fairy tale in one act.

The performance was created based on the fairy-tale picture "Magic Lake" by composer Anatoly Lyadov, fragments from the piano cycle "The Seasons", Symphony No. 2, C minor, op. 17 "Little Russian" by P. I. Tchaikovsky were used. Libretto, choreography and staging - Lyailya Mambetova. Production designer - Vladimir Koshelev, costume designer - Lyudmila Kuzhel. Musical director - Valery Rutter. Conductor - Mukhtar Kaldayakov.

The premiere took place on 13.18, December 25, 1994 at the Abay SAOBT.

Characters and performers: Marya - Liana Smagulova (Tazabekova); Danilushka - Zhanat Atymtayev; Baba Yaga - Nurtaza Gumarov; Squirrels - Raushan Tulegenova, Kalamkas Zhumagaliyeva; Peasant - Ulan Badenov; Cranes - the female composition of the ballet; Evil spirits - the male composition of the ballet.

The mistress of the magical mysterious lake, Baba Yaga, protected it from all aliens, and especially from Danilushka, because the enchanted girls languished in this lake. Among them was the beautiful Marya. The love of Marya and Danilushka defeats the spell of the accursed Baba Yaga. The sorcery loses its power, and the mysterious lake comes alive. The crane girls turn into charming earthly beauties and start a wedding round dance around Marya and Danilushka.
