ZH. YELEBEKOV REPUBLICAN CIRCUS AND PERFORMING ART COLLEGE
Biography
The Republican Circus and Performing Art Studio with a two-year training program, which provided training of the artist of performing art and circus was opened in 1965 in Alma-Ata. Honored Artist of KazSSR, master of artistic reading Gulzhikhan Galiyeva was appointed the first director and creative leader.
At the origins of the formation and development of the performing art studio that was first in the republic and the third in the USSR (before that only in Moscow and Kiev) there were well-known figures of Kazakh culture and art such as Elebekov, G. Kurmangaliyev, K. Kenzhetayev, Y. Nogaibayev, B. Karabalina, P. Potoroka, B. Zhylysbayev, Kh. Tastanov, F. Balgayeva, M. Khamzin, G. Rutkovskaya, Z. Koishybayeva, N. Tlendiev. Choreography teachers M. N. Shatlovsky, M. P. Gabel, G. B. Kiyakova, R. S. Davletyarova and other masters of choreographic art, who made a huge contribution to the organization of the educational institution and training. The well-known figures and brilliant performers gained the choreographic education at the college: G. Talpakova, T. Izim, G. Saitova, G. Pshenbayeva, A. Omarbekova.
In 1969, under the leadership of G. Galiyeva, the following groups were created from the first graduates: the first Youth Ensemble in the republic "Gulder", Variety and Youth Ensembles "Gakku" (Karaganda), "Turgai auenderi" (Arkalyk); "Armandastar" (Tselinograd).
In 1992, the studio was given the status of a school and named in honor of Zhusipbek Elebekov. The educational institution transferred to a three-year period of study. In 1995, the school received a new status -Zh. Elebekov Republican Circus and Performing Art College with multidisciplinary training (choreographic art, circus art, traditional art, variety art).
