Biography

Ballet consisting of two independent performances-short stories: "Akkanat" and "Hiroshima". The short stories were united by the common idea of a white bird as a symbol of the eternal struggle of the human spirit with hostile forces.

Composer - Gaziza Zhubanova. Libretto - Azerbaijan Mambetov. Choreography and staging - Dauren Abirov, Zaurbek Raibayev. Set Designer - Vasily Mamontov. Production conductor - Turgut Osmanov.

The premiere took place on May 21, 1966 on the stage of the Abay SAOBT.

Akkanat

Ballet in 2 acts, 3 scenes.

Characters and performers: Akkanat - Firuza Ultanbayeva; Asan - Abduakhim Asylmuratov.

A violent sandstorm turned the land into a dead desert. The girl Akkanat, wishing to save her native people from death, turns to the Sun. The mighty luminary agrees to return warmth and joy to people, but Akkanat must perish from the flame of its rays. The people did not want to reconcile with her death, and by the power of their imagination turn the girl into a white bird - a symbol of peace, goodness, and life.

Hiroshima

Ballet in 2 acts, 3 scenes.

Choreography and staging - Zaurbek Raibayev.

Characters and performers: Tayo - Anuarbek Jalilov, Ramazan Bapov, Abduakhim Asylmuratov; Suji - Sara Kusherbayeva, Tamara Parpibayeva; Yuki - Sara Nursultanova (student of the 6th grade of the choreographic school), Raushan Baiseitova.

The pearl diver Tayo, taking with him a paper crane - a talisman of the Japanese - goes to the sea. In his absence, an atomic bomb falls on the city, in which his wife and little daughter are left. Returning home, Tayo is depressed by grief. The narrative ends with a passionate call of the people to prevent a repetition of the tragedy.

The premiere took place on June 27, 1967 on the stage of the Abay SAOBT.

Later, the ballet "Hiroshima" was held in the repertoire of the theater under the title "Dragon's Flame".
