Biography

The ensemble was created in 1993 at the SE "K. Baizhanov Karaganda Concert Association", the Department of Culture, Archives and Documentation of the Karaganda Region. The first concert program for the group was created by the Honored art figire of the Kazakh SSR M.Zh. Tleubayev. The first leader (1993-2005) is K.A. Mukatova, a graduate of the Republican Studio of Circus and Performing Art. Since 2005, the ensemble has been headed by Nazgul Avilkhan, holder of the badge "Excellence in culture of the RK".

"Akku" promotes the dance culture of the Kazakh people and the dances of the world's peoples. The ensemble's repertoire includes dances staged by Kazakh choreographers such as G. Saitova ("Khorezm", "Tajik", "Uighur"); G. Adamova ("Turkish", "Spanish"); T. Izim (“Kyzgaldaktar”, “Kyz gumyr”, “Kurbylar”); Z. Azhibekova (“Koktem shuagy”).

The ensemble performed on tour in different countries such as Germany, South Korea, Iraq, Switzerland, Sweden, Hungary, Romania, Vietnam, Malaysia, Kuwait, France, Turkey, Oman, China, Bulgaria, where they worthily represented the Kazakh dance culture.

Laureate of the International Festival of Creative Youth "Shabyt" (1998); Laureate of the International Folk Dance Competition (Malaysia, 2012). The team is a participant in the Days of culture of Kazakhstan in China, Belarus, Vietnam, took part in the celebration of the 550th anniversary of the Kazakh Khanate.

The ensemble has a choreographic school which provides personnel training for the ensemble.
