AYUKHANOV (KUVATOV) Bulat Gazizovich

Biography

(13.09.1938, Semipalatinsk - 13.12.2022, Almaty) - ballet dancer, ballet master, director-choreographer, librettist, teacher, actor. Honored Artist of the KazSSR (1967), People's Artist of the KazSSR (1973), Laureate of the Lenin Komsomol Prize of the KazSSR (1971), Laureate of the State Prize of the KazSSR (1972), Laureate of the International Socrates Award for personal contribution to the world culture (2011), Laureate of the Independent Award of the Club of Patrons of Kazakhstan "Platinum Tarlan" (2021). In 2022, the winner of the "Umai" National Award in the nomination "Legend of the Kazakh ballet".

Graduate of Almaty Choreographic School (1946-1955) on specialty "Ballet Dancer", class of the teachers M. I. Mroz, A.V. Seleznev, V. E. Nikolayev, D. N. Gatsina.

Intern of the A.Ya. Vaganova Leningrad Choreographic School (1955-1957), teachers: Yu. I. Umrikhin, A. I. Pushkin, A. I. Bocharov, V. E. Bieber. Graduated from the A. V. Lunacharsky State Institute of Theater Arts (GITIS), workshop of R. V. Zakharova (1959-1964), teachers M. Vasilyeva- Rozhdestvenskaya, T. Tkachenko.

1957-1959 - soloist of the Abay State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre. He performed dances in the ballets "The Fountain of Bakhchisarai", Spanish dance from the act 3 of "Swan Lake". “Later, with the permission of the chief ballet master of the theater, Y. Kovalev, he prepared the role of Rothbart in the ballet "Swan Lake", having composed for himself the choreography of the second and third acts”. During the entrance exam to the A.V. Lunacharsky State Institute of Theater Arts at the Directing department, he staged and performed the dance "Toreador and Andalusian Maid" to the music of S. Rubinstein.

1964-1967 -ballet soloist, creates the "Theater of Two Actors" (I. Manskaya, B. Ayukhanov). Performer and producer of choreographic numbers, compositions: “Sad Waltz” by J. Sibelius; The program “Pages of the Kazakh epic” “Karga-batyr” and “Birshimbai” to the music of S. Mukhamedzhanov, “Aitys of Birzhan and Sara” (suite from the opera of the same title by M. Tulebayev), “Kozy-Korpesh - Bayan-Sulu” - Scene at Bayan-Sulu Mazar", music by B. Erzakovich. “Duel” (from the symphonic poem “Voice of Ages”, by S. Mukhamedzhanov).

1967-2010 - soloist of the ballet of the choreographic miniatures ensemble «Young Ballet of Alma-Ata", now the State Academic Dance Theater of the RK. He performed the main roles in the ballets: Hamlet - "Hamlet" (A. Isakova); Torero - "Carmen Suite" (G. Bizet-R. Shchedrin); "Batyrs" (A. Isakova); "Crime and Punishment" (Symphony No. 4 by D. Shostakovich); "Four portraits and denouement", "The Gambler" based on the novel by F. Dostoevsky (S. Prokofiev, choreography by B. Myagkov); Choreographic miniatures, dances, compositions: "Day" and "Night" (F. Chopin); "The Golden Eagle and the Fox" (N. Tlendiyev); "Corrida" (Ferguson); "Aria" (A. Zhubanov); "Spanish Sambra" by J. Cabestiani; Latin American dance "Bambaleo" etc.
