KAZYNA FOLK DANCE ENSEMBLE

Biography

The choreographic folk dance ensemble "Kazyna" was established in 1989 at the Chimkent Pedagogical Institute of Culture. In 2003, the ensemble under the direction of Zaure Azhibekova was renewed at the Shamshi Kaldayakov Regional Philharmonic, Akimat of the South Kazakhstan region. The first leader and chief ballet master-producer was Saule Balbarakova (1989-2000). At present, the leader is the Honored figure of Kazakhstan, Candidate of pedagogic sciences Zaure Azhibekova.

The ensemble's repertoire includes more than 80 dances based on Kazakh folklore and dances of the world's peoples. The repertoire of the ensemble consists of productions by Z. Azhibekova and well-known choreographers from CIS and foreign countries such as I. Larionov, A. Shishikin, Kh. Akhmedov, E. Shchegoleva, P. Abduraimov, G. Sydykova.

The ensemble is actively touring in the CIS and foreign countries: Austria (Villach, Klagenfurt, 2016), Bulgaria (Sofia, 2016), Russia (Yekaterinburg, 2017; St. Petersburg, 2019), Turkey (Kastamonu, 2018), Bosnia (2018), Herzegovina (2018), Montenegro (2018), Albania (2018), Macedonia (Skopje, 2018), Bulgaria (Sofia, Plovdiv, 2018), Japan (Tokyo, 2018), Belgium (Brussels, 2019), Germany (Berlin, 2019), Republic of Kyrgyzstan (Osh, 2019), Republic of Uzbekistan (Tashkent, 2019).

It takes part in significant cultural events, representing the art of Kazakhstan: Days of Culture of the RK in Russia (Kemerovo, 2003); Days of Kazakh culture in Georgia (Tbilisi, 2007); Days of Culture of the RK in Uzbekistan (Tashkent, 2019).

Itis the winner of various International and Republican competitions: III Prize ofSh. Zhienkulova I Republican competition of Kazakh dance (Alma-Ata, 1992); III Prize of the International Festival-Competition "Shabyt" (Astana, 2004); II Prize ofSh. Zhienkulova III Republican competition of Kazakh dance (Uralsk, 2006); III Prize of the International Competition "Buran Bel" (Shymkent, 2007); II Prize of the Republican competition "Shashu" (Kyzylorda, 2007); I Prize of the XI International Festival-Competition "Shabyt" (Astana, 2008); II Prize at the International Tufak Competition (Yalova, Türkiye, 2011); Grand Prix of Sh. Zhienkulova IV Republican competition of Kazakh dance (Astana, 2012); I Prize of the II Republican Television Competition "Aymaktar Alamany" in the nomination "Choreography" (Astana, national television channel "Khabar", 2012); I Prize at the International Bashkir Dance Competition (Ufa, 2012); Grand Prix of the International Competition "Roses of Kazakhstan" (Almaty, 2016); II Prize of the International competition, Diploma for the best productions (Sofia, Bulgaria, 2016); Laureate of the Foundation of the First President of Kazakhstan, Elbasy (2017); Grand Prix of the International Competition "Roses of Russia" (Yekaterinburg, 2017); I Prize at the International Folk Dance Competition "Altyn Karaqoz" (Bursa, Turkey, 2017); I Prize at the VII International Choreographic Competition "Roses of Russia 2019" (St. Petersburg, Russia, 2019).
