The premiere took place on December 30, 1968 on the stage of the Abay SAOBT.

The first Uyghur fairy tale- ballet, which tells about the struggle between good and justice and dark and hostile forces. The insidious Chon-Khotun, the elder wife of the villager Ashim-Akhun, out of envy, stole the newborn twins from Kichik-Khotun, the younger wife, and forced the old woman to throw them into the lake, and instead of children, put puppies in the cradle. In anger, the deceived Ashim-Akhun orders to doom Kichik-Khotun to eternal wanderings.
The children didn't die. Abandoned in the forest, the boy Chin-Tomur and the girl Makhtum were raised by the forest Doe. Chon-Khotun finds out about this, she turns into a witch and enchants the powerful ruler Kara-Khan with visions of the young Makhtum. The enamored Kara-Khan goes on a campaign for the beauty.
Batyr Chin-Tomur and the beautiful Makhtum took the battle of the Khan's army. But Kara-Khan wounds Chin-Tomur and takes Makhtum into captivity. Slaves led by Chin-Tomur burst into the palace. Batyr kills Kara-Khan and the witch and joyfully embraces the liberated sister.
A wonderful forest grows on the site of a gloomy palace. The people welcome the reunion of Chin-Tomur and Makhtum with their mother, Kichik-Khotun. With a request for forgiveness, Ashim-Akhun bows his head before her.
