Biography
(17.04.1968, Hamburg) - ballet dancer, choreographer. Winner of the prestigious Spanish award "Best Dancer", and his dance troupe was awarded in the nomination "Best Dance Production".
One of the cosmopolitan choreographers of the world. Since the 90s of the XX century, he is a permanent participant in many world ballet projects. He gained his ballet education at the school of the Hamburg Ballet under the direction of J. Neumeier and Truman Finney. 1987-1992 - worked in the M. Bejart Lausanne Ballet, performed solo parts. In 1992 he joined the National Dance Company of Spain under the direction of N. Duato, where he performed as a soloist for more than ten years, danced in productions by N. Duato, J. Kylian, O. Naharin, W. Forsythe, M. Ek and others. In 2003 he created his own troupe "Nafas Dance Company" in Valencia (Spain).
The author of many choreographic compositions for various artists and companies around the world: Incolballet (Colombia), Introdance Company (Netherlands), Vienna State Ballet, Tokyo Ballet, State Ballet of Istanbul, National Ballet of China, etc. He collaborated with the traditional Turkish dance company "Shaman Dance Group" (2010), as well as with the famous Iranian composer in the field of traditional music Kayhan Kalhor. His most famous productions: "Creations" (for Introdance Company, 2008), "Portrait ..." (2008), Encounter (2009), Nefes (specially for M. Legris, 2009), "White Shadows" (Tokyo Ballet, 2009), "Marie Antoinette" (Vienna State Ballet, 2010), "Labyrinth of Solitude" (especially for I. Vasiliev, 2011), cooperation with whom was continued by the project "La Follia" (2012), "Cleopatra" (for I. Liepa "Kremlin Ballet", 2012), "Jane Eyre" (2012) and "Echoes of Eternity" (2016) for the Shanghai Ballet. Large-scale project "Dreams of a Traveler - a Tale from Muharraq" (Bahrain, 2018).
The choreographer staged the national ballets in different countries: China, Türkiye, Japan. In Kazakhstan, he created the national ballet "The Call of the Steppe" at the Astana Opera Theater (2020), the author of the libretto is B. Kairbekov, the author of the adaptation of the choreographic libretto is J-F. Vazelle). The performance represented a tandem of ideas of the Kazakhstani and foreign production team, where the parable of the inspiring dream of a brave architect is told in the language of modern choreography
