Biography

One-act ballet.

Composer - Anton Arensky, based on the work "Night in Egypt" - Nuit d'Egypte, op. 50 based on the novel by Theophile Gauthier "Cleopatra’s Night". Libretto - Zaurbek Raibayev, based on the libretto by Michael Fokine. Choreography and staging - Zaurbek Raibayev. Production designer - Orynbasar Zhanbyrshiyev. Production conductor - Valery Rutter.

The premiere took place on March 27, 1994 at the "Evening of One-Act Ballets" choreographed by Zaurbek Raibayev at the Abay SAOBT.

Characters and performers: Cleopatra - Gulzhan Tutkibayeva, Mayra Tukeyeva; Anthony - Murat Tukeyev; Two-faced Janus - Natalia Likucheva; Spanish-Moorish dance - Assel Musinova, Tursunbek Nurkaliyev, Lyubov Makartseva.

The action takes place in Egypt in the I century BC. In the center of the plot is the love story of Cleopatra, the Egyptian queen, who hits men with her devastatingly magnificent beauty.
