Biography

(04.05.1956, Budapest) – ballet soloist, choreographer. Honored Artist of the Republic of Hungary (2004).

1975 – graduated from the Moscow State Academy of Choreography.

1976-1985 – dancer of the troupe of the Hungarian National Ballet. 1981-1991 – the first leading soloist of the Vienna State Opera. 1981-1989 – permanent guest leading soloist of the Bavarian State Opera.

1995-2005 – head of the ballet troupe of the Hungarian National Ballet.

2005-2010 – head of the ballet troupe and director of the ballet school of the Vienna State Opera and the Vienna Volksoper.

2013 – artistic director of the Summer Festival in Szeged (Hungary). Production choreographer of classical heritage ballets, musicals and operas in various theaters.
In Kazakhstan, G. Harangozo staged the children’s ballet “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” to the music of Tibor Kochak at the “Astana Opera” theatre (2021).

Awards: Gold medal at the Tokyo International Ballet Competition (1978). Austrian Cross of Honor “For Science and Art” (2010).
