Biography

One-act ballet.

Composer - Igor Stravinsky. Libretto, choreography and staging - Zaurbek Raibayev. Set Designer - Vladimir Arefiev (Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine). Production conductor - Valery Rutter.

The premiere took place in 1979 at the Abay SAOBT. On the same evening with the ballet "Man and Woman" choreographed by Zaurbek Raibayev.

Characters and performers: King of Hearts - Eduard Malbekov, Alexander Medvedev, Tursunbek Nurkaliyev; King of Tambourine - Akhmedgali Burkitbayev, Bakhyt Abdrakhmanov, Murat Adyrkhayev, Anatoly Semyonov, Dmitry Tuboltsev; King of Spades - Baurzhan Eshmukhambetov, Erbolat Asylgazinov; King of Clubs - Ulan Mirseidov, Samat Askarbekov; Queen - Lyudmila Li, Mansiya Karakulova, Lyudmila Makartseva, Gulzhan Tutkibayeva; Joker - Dyusenbek Nakipov, Kairat Mazhikeyev; ladies, jacks, courtiers of the card kingdom - ballet dancers.

A poker game is being played. In each deal, the game is confused by the insidious and tireless Joker. He considers himself invincible because he can transform into any card.

"Ballet in three deals", that is, scenes.

The performance was staged for the troupe of the MDT "Samruk" under the direction of Gulnara Adamova. The premiere of the performance took place in 2004 in Almaty at the M. Auezov Academic Drama Theater.

In the cards, or rather, the hitherto unrevealed laws of their combinations, there is a mysterious philosophical sphere - material and non-material, practical and speculative, physical and geometric. The Joker interferes with the game all the time. And, like a petty demon, he seeks to confuse it, but is defeated.
