KULYASH BAYSEITOVA NATIONAL OPERA AND BALLET THEATER
Biography
By the Government Decree No. 114 dated January 22, 2000, on July 6, 2000, in Astana the theatre was opened under the name "Ak Orda". T. Alpiev became the first director and artistic director of the theatre. By the Decree of July 5, 2000, the theatre was named in honor of the outstanding Kazakh opera singer Kulyash Baiseitova and was awarded the status of "National".
The new theater was opened with the national opera "Birzhan and Sara" by M. Tulebayev. The first ballet was "Swan Lake", edited by Z. M. Raibayev, staged by Vyacheslav and Natalia Goncharovs. In the premiere performance on the first day, the guest soloists from Moscow N. Chernobrovkina and D. Zababurin danced, on the second day there was a solo performance of the representatives of the Kazakh School D. Sushkov and G. Kurmangozhaeva. Six months after the opening of the theatre, T.A. Nurkaliyev, who was appointed to the position of the chief ballet master of the theatre, became the head of the ballet troupe of the theatre. A little later, G. Buribayeva began to work in the theatre as a teacher-tutor and director.
The backbone of the new theatre in the capital included 43 graduates and 2nd year students of the A. V. Seleznev ACS, and it was decided that they will graduate ahead of schedule with conferring graduation Diplomas.
Mastering of the performances of the classical heritage has become a strategic task for the young ballet troupe. The recognized masters of the world choreographic art were invited for the production: S. Vikharev ("Giselle", "Coppelia", "Chopiniana", "Carnival"); Y. Grigorovich ("La Fille mal gardee", "Le Corsaire"); A. Candeloro (Italy) ("Esmeralda"); B. Ayukhanov ("Carmen"), Sh. Teregulov ("Walpurgis Night", "Don Quixote"); J. Godin (France) (“Igor, Gloria, Vanessa”); M. Parrilla (Italy) (“La Sylphide”); E. Ivanova ("The Nutcracker"). There were active searches in the productions of national performances as well: V. Goncharov ("Alkissa", "Kys kiyaly", "Eternal Flame"); D. Avdysh (“Baiterek”). The chief ballet master T. Nurkaliyev staged two ballets - "The Fountain of Bakhchisarai" and "La Bayadère" (jointly with G. Buribayeva). In total, 24 ballets were staged during the theatre's operation period.
Talented graduates of the Kazakh ballet school, who were at the origins of the new theatre, and later became leading soloists in various theatres: G. Kurmangozhayeva, Zh. Aubakirov, S. Kaukov, G. Ussina, M. Unerbayeva, T. Gatauov, R. Seitbekov, T. Ten, R. Asanov, A. Mukatova. During various periods, the teachers-tutors G. Kokambayeva, Z. Umbetkulova, S. Turibayev, D. Zainullina, R. Seitbekov worked with the troupe.
K. Baiseitova NOBT was abolished by the Decree of the Government of the RK No. 43 dated February 3, 2014.
