Biography
(07.06.1962, Alma-Ata) - journalist, screenwriter, writer, director, philanthropist. Candidate of Biological Sciences (1988), member of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan (2006), founder of the Private fund for supporting culture "Solar Wind", member of the Kazakhstan National Committee of the UNESCO International Program "Human and the Biosphere", author of a number of charitable projects.
Graduated from the Faculty of Biology of the S. Kirov Kazakh State University (1984). Author of 8 books, 4 documentaries, ballet librettos and more than 500 publications in various magazines and newspapers, including materials on the creativity of the outstanding ballet dancers: G. Tutkibayeva, A. Asylmuratova, S. Rakhmetova, L. Alpiyeva, G. Gafurova, K Sarkytpayeva, A. Tanykpayeva and others.
In 2002-2010 - Editor-in-chief of the first Kazakh illustrated magazine for men "DM Season". Holder of the State grant of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the RK for the best ballet work (2008). He is the author of the libretto for the two-act ballet performance "Celestial Nomad Camp" by A. Raimkulova (2010), which became the basis of his book of the same title, which was published several times and was translated into English. In 2018, based on the libretto of "Celestial Nomad Camp" at the "Astana Opera", a one-act ballet "Sounds of Time" was staged to the music by A. Raimkulova (choreography by K. Zvereva (RF), set design by R. Masironi (Italy). He is a screenwriter and director of documentaries about ballet: “One, two and…”, “Live Pictures of Toko Shinoda”, “Ballet on the backdrop of mountains”, “They are dancing here”, etc. Together with his wife, a ballet dancer and teacher, Gulnara Kapanova he works on a photo and video project about the A. V. Seleznev Almaty Choreographic School "House of Dance" and the publication of a photo album "We are learning, rehearsing, dancing ...". Author of a book about the outstanding ballerina L. G. Rudakova "Life-long Adagio", a photo album "The Ballet nomad" about the creativity of Aliya Tanykpayeva - the étoile of the Hungarian Opera House.
