Biography

22.08.1922, Kokchetav region, Shchuchinsky district, Borovoye resort – 16.09.1996, Almaty.

After 06.12.1959 – Karabalina.

Ballet dancer. Honored Artist of the Kazakh SSR (1959).

1930-1936 – after moving to Alma-Ata, she completed 5 grades of secondary school. She took lessons in the studio of the Kuibyshev Mobile Opera, which was located in Alma-Ata. Teachers: A. Aleksandrov, L. Zhukov, A. Chekrygin.

1936-1967 – dancer at the Kazakh State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre named after Abay. She was accepted as a corps de ballet dancer at the age of 14. Since December 16, 1944 she has been a ballet soloist.

Repertoire in ballet performances: Dametken ("Kambar and Nazim"), Uzbek dance ("Coast of Happiness"), Hungarian dance ("Swan Lake").

Solo dances in the operas "Kyz Zhibek" and "Zhalbyr" by Y. Brusilovsky, "Abai" by A. Zhubanov, "Birzhan and Sara" by M. Tulebayev, "Nuzugum" by K. Kuzhamyarov. One of the best performers of Balbrauyn and Bylkyldak dances. In 1964 she toured with a concert team in India.

Karabalinova made a great contribution to the development of the Kazakh ballet theater and the formation of dance traditions in national choreography. The performing skills of the dancer were characterized by soft lyricism, unusual plasticity of hands, and expressive dance.

Awards: Medal "For valiant work during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945" (1945), “Badge of Honor” Order (17.01.1959) was awarded for outstanding achievements in the development of Kazakh art and in connection with the Decade of Kazakh Art and Literature in Moscow, Honorary Diploma of the Supreme Soviet of the Kazakh SSR (1967).
