KYDYRBEK Balnur Balgabekovna

Biography

(13.06.1955, Alma-Ata) - composer. Laureate of the State Prize of the RK (2014), holder of the "Kurmet" Order, Chairperson of the public association "Kazakhstan compositorlar kauymdastygy".

She graduated from the K. Baiseitova Republican Specialized Music School (1973); Kurmangazy Almaty State Conservatory, class of professor K. Kuzhamyarov (1973-1978).

In the 80s of the XX century she became the first Kazakhstani composer who created the works for a concert band (“Festive Overture”, “Mourning Kui”, “Duel”). She composed music for the children's ballet "The Dragon and the Swallow", staged at the Abay SAOBT, choreographer Z. Raibayev (1996). The music composed for the ballet "Nauryz meiram hikayasy" was awarded the Grand Prix of the competition "Astana-Baiterek".

On January 19, 2007 on the stage of K. Baiseitova NOBT the premiere of the opera-ballet "Kalkaman-Mamyr" by B. Kydyrbek (libretto by K. Kenzhetayev based on the poem of the same title by Sh. Kudaiberdiyev) took place. Author of the symphonic poems "Bekbolat", "Resisting the Fate", "Erlik". The composition "Requiem" is the first composition of this genre in Kazakhstani musical art, for which the composer was awarded the title of the Laureate of the State Prize of the RK.
