The playwright G. Musrepov created a drama play of the same title and a screenplay based on the famous Kazakh epic about the lovers Kyz-Zhibek and Tulegen, who could not be together due to tribal feuds and the deceit of Tulegen's rival Bekezhan, who was also in love with a girl. In G. Musrepov's version, the story ends here, unlike the epic itself. This musical and dramatic performance has a special place in Kazakh art. It is the basis for the development of the national opera, national ballet and the "golden fund" of the national art of Kazakhstan.
