The ballet was created for the troupe of the Astana Ballet Theatre, the premiere took place on November 6, 2020.
Characters and performers: Turanga - Ansagan Kobentai; Soul of Turanga - Dilara Shomayeva; Young man - Farkhad Buriyev; The leaders of the woodcutters - Kazbek Akhmedyarov, Eldar Sarsembayev.
The Kazakhs call the Turanga tree “zheltorangy” - “wind nest” or “turanga calling the wind”. Many legends have been preserved about this amazing tree, which symbolizes the strength of the people in times of difficult trials. The ballet tells about the confrontation between human and nature. Turanga found the strength to resist the onset of the sand dunes, withstood, hardened, acquired powerful roots that nourished it. The uninvited guests decided to cut down the tree, but the brave Young Man stood up to protect Turanga. He died protecting the beautiful Turanga, and it grieved for a long time, mourning her protector. Turanga's sad moans frightened the travelers. However, over time, the pain subsided, proud and strong, it accepted the loneliness. Turanga still resists sandy pressures, serves as a shady oasis for all travelers and enjoys the singing of birds.
