Biography

One-act ballet.

Composer - Nurilla Zakirov (Uzbekistan), fragment of the ballet "Mankurt". Libretto - Bulat Ayukhanov, based on the novel by Chingiz Aitmatov "The day lasts more than a hundred years". Choreography and staging - Bulat Ayukhanov.

The premiere took place in 1989. The production was staged for the SECD of the KazSSR under the direction of B. Ayukhanov.

The premiere of the ballet in a new edition under the title "Tears of the Mother" took place on March 29, 2018 on the stage of the N. Sats Youth Theater.

The ballet is based on a historical plot and develops in the genre of lyrical tragedy. The performance begins with the celebration of the age of majority of Zholoman - a young man of the Naiman tribe, which is overshadowed by the attack of Zhuan-Zhuan tribe, which is headed by the Leader, the brutal murder of Dononbai and capture of his son Zholoman. The mother, heartbroken, does not know what to do, and goes in search of her son ... Further, the action develops in the Zhuan-Zhuan tribe. Having fun, the savages put rawhide camel skin (“shiri”) on the heads of captives, which, when dried, turns them into mankurt people, who are mindless.

In search of his son, Naiman-ene meets with shepherds, among whom she finds her Zholoman. Now he no longer recognizes anyone, except for the moon, which saved him in the evenings from the scorching heat.

The mother does not lose hope to be with her son. The owner of the Mankurt knows about the search of Naiman-ene and gives his slave a bow and arrow to kill the mother. Mankurt accepts a weapon as a gift and kills Naiman-ene. Naiman-ene's heart was torn by the mankurt's arrow. The Earth itself rebels against this tragedy: unable to withstand such cruelty of people, it wipes out all the guilty from its face.
