STATE DANCE THEATRE NAZ
Biography
The theatre originates from the "Naz" dance ensemble, which was created in 1999 at the State Philharmonic Society of Astana Akimat. The initiators and creators of the ensemble are the spouses Yerkebulan and Kadisha Agimbayevs. In 2007, the ensemble was transformed into the SE "State Dance Theatre "Naz" under the Akimat of Astana. Director and artistic director -the Cultural figure of the RK E.M. Agymbayev; chief ballet master - Honored figureof Kazakhstan, holder of the "Kurmet" Order K.E. Agymbayeva.
The main mission of the theatre is the promotion of national folklore and the development of Kazakh dance art. The repertoire includes more than ten choreographic performances: "Tuygyndar" (choreographer E. Agymbayev, 2007); "Nurgisa" (director-choreographer E. Agymbayev, 2011); "Myn bir tunnin bir tuni" (choreographers - K. Agymbayeva, M. Aitmagambetova, D. Suleimenova, N. Leontieva, 2013); "Genghis Khan" (choreographer Tugsuu Tumurkhuyag, Mongolia, 2019), "Uakyt-Omir" (choreographer S. Dominskaya, Russia, 2020), etc.
The team is an active participant in all cultural and festive events in the country and abroad: Asian Games, International Competitions and Festivals (Turkey, Russia, China, South Korea, Bulgaria, Greece, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Norway, UAE, Romania, Ukraine, etc.).
The theatre is the winner of various prestigious Republican, International Competitions and Festivals: II Prize of Sh. Zhienkulova II Republican Competition of Kazakh Dance (Uralsk, 2001); Grand Prix of the IV International Festival-Competition of Creative Youth "Shabyt" (Astana, 2001); Prize of the Youth Union of Kazakhstan (2002); II Prize at the II International Competition of Choreographers (Novosibirsk, Russia, 2003); M. Esambayev IX International Festival-Competition (Grozny, Chechen Republic, 2017); Grand Prix of the XXI International Festival-Competition of Creative Youth "Shabyt" (Astana, 2018); Special Award for directing of the International Folklore Festival VITOSHA 2020 - WEB EDITION (Bulgaria, online competition, 2020); I National Prize "Nauryz-2021" for contribution to the development of national culture (Astana).
