ORLEU INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF CHOREOGRAPHIC EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS

Biography

The festival was first held in 2011 at the A.V. Seleznev ACS. The format of the festival includes performances by the participants from different national schools, master classes, training seminars, round tables, conferences, concerts, and practical demonstrations. The general partner and sponsor of the festival is the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy.

The purpose of the festival is to support and popularize the national choreographic art, strengthen the professional community of teachers-choreographers and ballet masters, international exchange of creative achievements and work experience in the field of choreographic education, improve the professional training of students, identify the most gifted performers, their creative growth and promotion of the choreographic art of Kazakhstan.

In different years, the speakers of the festival were honored figures, artists, teachers from foreign countries: Toni Candeloro (Italy), Gabor Kevehazi (Hungary), Igor Kolb (Russia), Marina Vasilyeva (Russia), Yuri Vasyuchenko (Ukraine), Guli Khamrayeva (Uzbekistan), Muride Sun Aksan (Turkey) and others.

The festival is held every two years, 5 festivals were held: 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019. The IV International Festival of Choreographic Educational Institutions "Orleu" was dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the birth of Zaurbek Raibayev.
