Biography

Ballet dancer, librettist, poet, writer. Chairman of the Union of Choreographers of Kazakhstan.

1958-1964 – student of Moscow Academic Choreographic School at the at the State Academic Bolshoi Theater of the USSR, teachers: E.P. Valukin, L.T. Zhdanov.

1980-1985 – part-time student of the Faculty of Journalism of the S. M. Kirov Kazakh State University.

1964-1967 – ballet dancer of the Abay State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre.

1967-1968 – ballet dancer of the A. Maldybayev Kyrgyz State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre.

1968-1970 – ballet dancer of the P. I. Tchaikovsky Perm State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre.

1970-1972 – ballet soloist of the first category, teacher-tutor of the Samarkand State Opera and Ballet Theatre.

For a short time until September 5, 1972, between the official periods of work in ballet groups that are reflected in the personal file, he danced in the troupes of Novosibirsk Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre and the L. Jacobson Ballet Theater (Leningrad).

1972-1986 – ballet dancer, soloist, leading soloist of the ballet at the Abay SAOBT. Repertoire: The Nutcracker ("The Nutcracker"), Shurale ("Shurale"), Mercutio ("Romeo and Juliet"), Mowgli (first performance, "My Brother Mowgli"), Jester ("Swan Lake"), Kosog (first performance, "Frescoes"), Khan-Zada (first performance, "Aksak-Kulan"), Pulcinella ("Pulcinella"), Blue Bird ("Sleeping Beauty"), Joker (first performance, "Jeu de cartes"), Golden Idol (“La Bayadère”), Elder Son (“Old Photograph”), Pan (choreographic scene “Walpurgis Night” from C. Gounod’s opera “Faust”), Rider (choreographic scene “Polovtsian Camp” from A. Borodin’s opera “Prince Igor”) etc. Among the concert numbers - trio to the music of Kurmangazy "Sary-Arka" performed by U. Mirseidov, K. Mazhikeyev, D. Nakipov.

1976-1985 – teacher of classical dance at the ACS. Among the students: E. Asylgazinov, M. Tukeyev and other talented dancers.

Author of the libretto for the ballets: “My Brother, Mowgli” by A. Serkebayev (1982); “Eternal Flame” by S. Erkimbekov (1985); “Time “RE” by composers P. Glass, W. Mozart, A. Schnittke, M. Bruch, D. Shostakovich, B. Coulais, Saint-Preux (the ballet to the poetry of D. Nakipov (2004); "Adam" by K. Shildebayev (2007). Author of the libretto for children's ballets: "Er-Tostik" by B. Daldenbayev (2011), "Revival" (2011), "The Little Magician Yerlik Baka" by N. Nuridin (2012).

Poet, novelist, author of the books: "Evening of the Century" (1996), "Clam Song" (2000), "Twins" (2001), "Woman and Purple" (2004); novels: "Circle of Ashes" (2006), "Shadow of the Wind" (a novel of hopes in a circle of ashes) and the book of poems "Time Re" (2009), "Lilacs at the Sunset" (2011). Author of a play based on folklore Korean legends "The Prince of Three Kingdoms" (2012). Under his editorship, the book of essays “The Steppe Enchanted by Dance…” (2011) and the illustrated information guide “Choreographers of Kazakhstan” (2012) were published.

Chairman of the Union of Choreographers of Kazakhstan (1999-2021). Thanks to the extraordinary and multifaceted talent, commitment to the art, D.T. Nakipov generated and implemented projects that entered the history of the culture of the independent Kazakhstan, regularly raised the problems of ballet art in the media of Kazakhstan. Large-scale creative projects: International Festival "Prize of Traditions" (later, after the death of G. S. Ulanova - the guest of honor of the first festival, the project was renamed the "Ulanova's Prize" International Festival). At the initiative of D.T. Nakipov, the “Kazakhstan Patrons Club” established the annual independent "Tarlan Prize" (2000), which was awarded in Kazakhstan from 2000 to 2008 in seven areas: literature, music, theater, fine arts, cinematography, science, education.
