Biography

NENASHEV Anatoly Ivanovich (5.01.1903, Tambov - 28.09.1967, Alma-Ata) - Soviet theater artist. Honored Artist of the KazSSR (1945), Honored Art Figure of the KazSSR (1954), Laureate of the Stalin Prize (1949), Laureate of the State Prize of the KazSSR (1966).

He graduated from the Tambov Art College, since 1924 he worked in the theaters of the RSFSR (Tambov, Kozlov, Voronezh, etc.). In 1930 he moved to live and work in Alma-Ata, is the first production designer of the Kazakh Musical Theater, where he worked for more than 30 years. The author of the scenery for the first production of the theater - the musical comedy "Aiman-Sholpan" by M. Auezov (1934), the play "Kyz-Zhibek" by G. Musrepov (libretto by G. Musrepov, musical transcription of folk melodies by Y. Brusilovsky). The premiere took place on November 7, 1934 (conductor F. Kuzmich, director Zh. Shanin, artist A. Nenashev, ballet master A. Aleksandrov). For the presented layout of the scenery for the opera "Kyz-Zhibek" he was awarded the Gold Medal at the World Exhibition of Decorative Arts in Paris (1937).

The author of scenery and costumes for the performances: "Zhalbyr" (1935), "Er Targyn" (1937, 1954), "Dudaray" (1953, 1957), "Amangeldy" by Y. Brusilovsky, "Birzhan and Sara" by M. Tulebayev (1946, 1957: the performance was awarded Stalin Prize 1949), "Aida" by G. Verdi (1948), "The Tsar's Bride" by N. Rimsky-Korsakov (1952, 1957), “The Young Guard” by Y. Meitus (1955), “The Queen of Spades” by P. Tchaikovsky (1956), “Into the Storm” by T. Khrennikov (1956), “The Barber of Seville” by G. Rossini (1957).

In 1950, he acted as production designer of the ballet "Kambar and Nazim" by V. Velikanov and the first Uighur opera "Nazgum" by K. Kuzhamyarov (1956). Designer of the performances of the Kazakh Drama Theater: "Stone Plumage" (1935), "Aiman-Sholpan" by M. Auezov, "Kozy Korpesh - Bayan Sulu" by G. M. Musrepov (1953), "Abay" by M. Auezov and L. Sobolev (1962), "Little Tragedies" by A. Pushkin (1964).
