Biography

(04.09.1951, Zhanasemey district, Semipalatinsk region) - dancer. Honored Figure of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2003).

Graduated from the Republican Circus and Performance Art Studio (1969), teachers: G.G. Galiyeva, M.P. Gabel, D.B. and G.B. Kiyakovs. She studied at the Higher Trade Union School of Culture (now St. Petersburg Humanitarian University of Culture).

During many years the creative activity of A. Omarbekova was closely connected with the "Gulder" State youth variety ensemble: 1969-1975 - ballet dancer of the "Gulder" ensemble (from 1973-1975 - soloist). 1976-1978 - artist of the tour and concert association "Kazakhconcert"; 1978-1993 artist of the "Gulder" ensemble, 1993-1995 - teacher-tutor of the ensemble, 1995-1998 - choreographer of the ensemble, 2003-2006 - chief choreographer and art director of the "Gulder" ensemble. The first performer of the repertoire of the "Gulder" ensemble: "Dombra", "Indian dance", "Khorezm dance", "Sirtaki" directed by D.B. Kiyakova; performed solo parts in dances: "Birma dance", "Pakistani dance" (staged by People's Artist of the USSR G.B. Izmailova), "Bozyngen" and "Mother's Song" (staged by J.K. Baidaralin), "Samba" (staged by V. A. Manokhin). A. Omarbekova's dance was remarkable for its artistry, temperament, and performance technique.

She is the founder of the dance ensemble "Altynbubi". In 1998-2003, 2006-2011 - director and artistic director of the ensemble. Member of the jury of various republican, international competitions and festivals: "Ainalaiyn", "Boztorgai", "Shabyt", children's art creativity competition in San Remo (Italy).

On tours, as part of the ensemble "Gulder" she performed on the stages of many countries of the world. As a leader of the "Altynbubi" ensemble, she went on tours to the CIS and other foreign countries.

Awards: Letter of thanks from the Ministry of Culture of the USSR (1973); Medal "10th Anniversary of Independence of the RK" (2001); Medal "10th Anniversary of the Parliament of the RK" (2006).
