KOZY-KORPESH AND BAYAN-SULU
Biography
Ballet in 3 acts, 18 scenes with prologue and epilogue.
Composer - Yevgeny Brusilovsky. Libretto, choreography and staging - Dauren Abirov. Production designer - Gulfairus Ismailova. Production conductor - Turgut Osmanov.
The premiere took place on October 5, 1971 at the Abay SAOBT.
Characters and performers: Kozy-Korpesh - Ramazan Bapov, Anuarbek Jalilov; Bayan-Sulu - Sara Kusherbayeva, Raushan Baiseitova, Firuza Zhulimbetova; Kodar - Bulat Valiev.
A young man with a pure heart and open soul, Kozy-Korpesh, learns about his betrothed bride Bayan-Sulu. He seeks and finds his love. But on the threshold of his happiness, he is killed by the rich, jealous and vile Kodar, a rival who dreamed of marrying Bayan-Sulu. Grief did not reconcile the girl with the outrage of those in power and the deceit of the father Karabay. Bayan dies next to her lover. Kozy-Korpesh and Bayan-Sulu become a symbol of immortal love and fidelity for all generations of lovers.
