Biography

One-act ballet.

Plotless ballet to a piano concerto by Johann-Sebastian Bach (Piano Concerto No. 1 (D minor/d moll) BWV 1052). Libretto, choreography and production - David Jonathan (Australia). Costume designer - Paula Rosa Santana (Brazil), set designer - Rene David Salazar (Brazil), lighting designer - Yulia Karakayeva. Piano part - Amir Tebenikhin. Production conductor - Yerbolat Akhmedyarov.

The premiere took place on April 27-28, 2019 on the stage of the Abay SAOBT.

Characters and performers. Female soloists: Nargiz Mirseidova, Malika Elchibayeva, Malika Davletova, Janel Tukeyeva, Dinara Kudabayeva, Bayan Beketayeva, Arisa Khashimoto, Dilyafraz Zhakipova, Riza Taganova.

Male soloists: Kaskyrbai Yeskali, Arkhat Ashirbek, Arnur Tusupbekov, Aziz Yesenbayev, Aset Murzakulov, Mukhtar Dzhumaniyzov, Rustem Imangaliyev, Azamat Askarov, Almas Kalel, Alibek Aspetov, Farkhad Sadvakasov.

The ballet "Rediscovering Bach" is an abstract deconstruction of classicism, where Bach's music remains the same unifying classical element, with an unusual and unexpected choreographic language. Three parts of the piano concerto by J.-S. Bach - these are three different states of the ballet: classical beginning in the first,sense of confusion and search in the second, freedom and triumph of dance in the third part.
