Biography
SAITOVA Gulnara Yusupovna (10.06.1952, Chilik settlement, Chilik district, Almaty region) - dancer, ballet master, director-choreographer, teacher, researcher. Honored Artist of Kazakhstan (1995), Candidate of Art History (2005), professor (2018).
She studied at Almaty Choreographic School, teacher K.M. Zhakipova (1963-1966); Graduated from the Zh. Elebekov Studio of Circus and Performing Arts (1969-1971), teachers: M.P. Gabel, G.B. Kiyakova, M.N. Shatlovsky, R.S. Davletyarova, K.N. Andosov; the T. Zhurgenov State Institute of Theater and Cinema, specialty "Director-Choreographer" (1994-1999), workshop of B.G. Ayukhanov; completed internship at the State Honored Ensemble of Uzbekistan "Bakhor" headed by K. Mirkarimova (1983-1984).
1971-1995 - soloist of the ballet of the State Republican Uighur Music and Drama Theatre, was involved in the process of creation of the Variety Youth Ensemble "Yashlyk" (1974). In 1984 she released a solo concert program "Sharik sadasi". 1988-1991 - choreographer of the Uighur theater; 1991-2012 - chief choreographer; 2013-2016 - consultant of the ballet troupe of the theater. During the period of work, dances, dance and plastic scenes were staged in the performances: "Anarkhan", "Gerip-Sanam", "Amanisakhan", "Iparkhan", "Makhambet", "Holy Sin", "Golden Key", "The Rebellion of the Brides", “African Fiancé”, “Arshin Mal Alan”, “Tricks of Maysara”, “Child”, “Kashgar kyzy”, etc. She is the director-choreographer of the plasticity scenes in the experimental play “Tavut”, which was presented at the International Theater Festivals in Cairo (1997), Hungary (1998). She staged dance numbers in the concert programs of the folklore ensemble "Nava", Variety and Youth Ensembles "Yashlyk" and "Sada", which are functioning in the Uighur Theater, as well as socially significant events of the RK.
In 1991, at the theater she created the dance ensemble "Rukhsara" (Winner of the International and Republican folk dance competitions), is a stage director and author of 10 theatrical concert programs of the group. She staged the productions at the M. Auezov Kazakh Academic Theater and the G. Musrepov Theater for Children and Youth in the performances "Gypsy Serenades", "Men kele zhatyrmyn", "Myn bir kun".
In 1997, at the A. Navoi Tashkent State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater she worked as a consultant of oriental numbers and producer of the final number in the ballet "Tricks of Nasreddin" (choreographer B. Ayukhanov). In 2007 - consultant and choreographer of the Persian dance of the ballet "Gak-ku - the call of the swan" (SADT RK).
She staged dances of the peoples of the East (Uzbek, Tajik, Arabic, Azerbaijani, Turkish, Syrian, etc.) in the State Ensembles "Saltanat", "Altynay", Dance Theater "Naz", Variety and Youth Ensemble "Gulder", as well as in the folk ensembles "Kokshetau", "16 kyz", "Aisha Bibi", "Arai", "Sholpan", "Akku" etc. Prepared the folk ensembles "Arzu", "Shatlyk" and "Tokuzbulak" to participate in the International Festivals in Zielona Gora and Krakow (Poland, 1988, 1989).
1988-2012 - lecturer at the Zh. Elebekov RCCPA; 1989-1999 - lecturer at the A.V. Seleznev ACS; 2002-2016 - teacher of the T.K. Zhurgenov KazNAA. Since 2016, she has been working at the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography: Dean of the Faculty of Choreography (2016), Head of the Department of "Concertmaster Skills and Music Theory" (2017), professor of the Department of Directing (2018), professor of the Department of Art History and Art Management (2019).
In 1992 - in the frame of the exchange program of creative personnel between Kazakhstan and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of the PRC, on behalf of the Ministry of Culture of the RK, she taught at the Institute of Arts in Urumqi (“Oriental dance”). 1999-2001 at the invitation of the leadership of the “Artacademy - BaleKursu” she taught classical and oriental dances in Istanbul. Frequently held master classes in oriental dance: Central Asian Oriental Dance Federation, International Festival of Children's Creativity "Boztorgai", "Guncha, Seoul University of Culture and Sports (Korea, 2016), Academy of Choreography in Rome (Italy, 2022).
Defended her Candidate thesis on the topic "Uyghur stage dance (based on materials of performances and concert programs of the Uyghur theater in Almaty)", supervisor B.K. Kundakbayev (2005). Author of 3 monographs; 2 textbooks, electronic textbook; training manuals, scientific publications. Since 2014, she has been a member of the Slavic Intercultural Research Group in the framework of the International scientific project "Culture: Society, Leadership and Subject in Kazakh and Hungarian culture". Prepared 17 Masters and 4 PhD.
Awards: Honorary Diploma of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR (1985); Laureate of the Ilham Award of the Public Uighur Club of Patrons (2002); "The best teacher - 2020"; "The best teacher of the CIS - 2022".
