SHAISHMELASHVILI Olga Tamazievna
Biography
(1978, Leningrad) – theater designer, stage designer.
1996 – graduated from the B. Johanson St. Petersburg State Art Academic Lyceum at the Russian Academy of Arts. 2002 – graduated from the A. L. Stieglitz St. Petersburg State Academy of Art and Design.
Since 2002 she creates scenery and costumes for musical theater projects and performances. As a stage designer and costume designer, she participated in the productions of dramatic performances of the M. Chekhov Riga Russian Theater (Latvia), Moscow Academic Theater of Satire, V. I. Kachalova Russian Drama Theater (Kazan). She is a costume designer for the performances of the Boris Eifman Ballet Theatre: “Rodin” (2011), “Requiem” (2014), “Up & Down” (2015), “Tchaikovsky. ProetContra” (2016), “Requiem” at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, “Rodin” at the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires (2014).
In 2015-2020, she created costumes for the opera productions “Khovanshchina”, “The Gambler”, “Madama Butterfly” (director Vasily Barkhatov), B. Zimmerman’s “Soldiers”, “Eugene Onegin”, “The Invisible”/ L’Invisible by Aribert Reimann, “Faust” – at the Theater Basel (Switzerland), the State Theater Wiesbaden, the Theater Saarbrücken, the Deutsche Oper (Berlin), the Royal Opera in Stockholm (Sweden), the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre. She is a stage designer and costume designer in the performances of the L. Yacobson St. Petersburg State Academic Ballet Theater: “Stone Shore”, “Chopiniana”, Grand pas from the ballet “Paquita”, “Sleeping Beauty”.
The author of scenography and costumes for the performances of the “Astana Ballet” Theatre: “Zhusan” (2014), “Carmen” (2015), “Salome” (2018) by M. Avakhri.
Holder of a special prize “For non-standard solution of the space of the performance” of the Expert Council of the Highest Theater Award of St. Petersburg “Golden Soffit” season 2018-2019 (“Russian Matrix”, staged by A. Prikotenko).
