SHARA ZHIENKULOVA REPUBLICAN COMPETITION OF KAZAKH DANCE

Biography

The founders of the I Competition are the Ministry of Culture of the Kazakh SSR and theA. Seleznev ACS. The first competition took place on March 29 - April 3, 1992 in Almaty on the basis of theA. V. Seleznev ACS and was held in two categories: solo and ensemble. The Grand Prix of the competition was awarded to the soloists of the State Dance Ensemble "Saltanat" Gulmira and Gulnara Gabassovs; The I place was taken by the duet of the Folklore Ensemble "Sazgen" - A.Tati and G.Pshenbayeva. Among the ensembles, the I place was taken by the State Ensemble "Saltanat", II place - SFDE "Altynay". The Chairman of the Jury was Z.M. Raibayev.

In 2001, the II Competition was held in Uralsk, a great contribution to the revival of which was made by the Head of the department of choreography of theM. Utemissov WKSU (Uralsk) A.K. Kulbekova. The Grand Prix of the Competition was won by the ensemble "Arna" of theM. Utemissov WKSU. The I place was taken by A. Akylbekova , a student of ACS. The Chairman of the Jury was B.G. Ayukhanov.

The III Competition was held in Uralsk (2006) on the basis ofM. Utemissov WKSU. In the framework of the competition, an international scientific and practical conference “Ulttyk madeni mura zhane onyn kazirgі zamangy maseleleri” and master classes were held. Chairman of the Jury - People's Artist, Laureate of the State Prize of the KazSSR B.G. Ayukhanov. The Grand Prix was awarded to the ensemble "Arna" of the M. Utemissov WKSU. The I place was won by the dancer B. Akiyar (Taldykorgan). For the first time, the heads of choreographic groups refused to perform the dances of famous ballet mastersand presented their own performances. The Chairman of the Jury was B.G. Ayukhanov.

The IV competition was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Shara Zhienkulova and was organized in KazNUA (Astana, 2012). The Folk Dance Ensemble "Kazyna" from Shymkent (headed by Z. Azhibekova) was awarded the Grand Prix. During the competition, which lasted 3 days, master classes on Kazakh dance were held, there was a presentation of the first textbook "Theory and Methods of Teaching Kazakh Dance" in Kazakh and Russian (authors T.O. Izim, A.K. Kulbekova). The Chairman of the Jury was the People's Artist of theRK G. Talpakov.

The V competition was held at the Astana Ballet Theatre, organized by the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography. The competition presented a lot of works of the young choreographers and new ensembles from the regional philharmonics (G. Ordabayeva - Kokshetau, A. Tsoi - Almaty, A. Daiyrbayeva - Pavlodar, A. Tasbolatova - Uralsk, and others. The Grand Prix of the competition was awarded to the Ensemble of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography under the direction of choreographers A. Sadykova and A. Shamshiyev.The Chairman of the Jury was the Honored figure of Kazakhstan A. Tati.

The VI competition (2023), as in 2019, was held atthe Astana Ballet Theater, the organizer was the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography. Newly created groups and young performers participated in the competition. The Chairman of the Jury was the people's Artist of the RK G. Talpakov.

Sh. Zhienkulova Republican Competition of Kazakh Dance plays an important role in the development of Kazakh stage dance, discovering new names of performers and choreographers.
