The premiere took place on December 14, 1956 on the stage of the Abay SAOBT.

In the forest thicket, the young hunter Ali-Batyr fights with the evil lord offorest - Shurale, who stole the wings of the bird girl - the beautiful Syuinbike. Having defeated Shurale, Ali-Batyr carries away Syuinbike, who is exhausted by the search for her wings. The defeated Shurale threatens to take cruel revenge on Ali-Batyr, who stole the bird girl from him.
In the village there is a feast in honor of the betrothal of Ali-Batyr and Syuinbike. But the bride is sad. She cannot forget the lost wings. Shurale sneaks into the yard and throws Syuinbike her wings. Taking off, she finds herself surrounded by a flock of crows sent by Shurale. Ali-Batyr sees a flying white bird in the sky, which beats in the ring of black ravens. Grabbing a burning torch, he rushes in chase.
A bird girl languishes in captivity, rejecting Shurale's claims. Ali-Batyr appears in the forest thicket and sets fire to Shurale's lair. All its inhabitants perish in the fiery element. Ali-Batyr and Syuinbike are alone among the raging flames. Ali-Batyr gives the girl her wings - the only way to salvation. But Shuinbike refuses to leave his beloved and throws the wings into the fire. Immediately the forest fire goes out. Ali-Batyr and Syuinbike return to the village. Relatives and friends wish happiness to the lovers.
