One of the best ballets of the famous choreographer, staged back in 1965, where he reads the famous novel by Hugo in a completely new way, filling the ballet with modern problems and not at all romantic feelings. In the image of the hunchback Quasimodo, the choreographer does not use external devices, but conveys his physical ailment and ugliness only through plasticity. The storyline focuses on Esmeralda's relationships with Claude Frollo, Phoebus and Quasimodo. The production was staged jointly with the “Roland Petit Ballets” Foundation (France).
