Biography

One-act ballet.

Composer - Alfred Schnittke. Libretto - Gulzhan Tutkibayeva, based on the sonnets of William Shakespeare. Choreography and staging - Gulzhan Tutkibayeva. Set designer - Orynbasar Zhanbyrshiev. Costume designer - Tolkyn Esaliyeva.

The premiere took place on June 2, 2005 on the stage of the Abay SAOBT.

Characters and performers: God Eros - Nurlan Baibusinov; Couples in love - Aliya Sapugova - Yassaui Mergaliev, Alexei Safronov - Kuralai Sarkytbayeva, Nailya Krebayeva - Marat Abdrakhmanov; Nymphs - Mukaram Abubakhrieva, Diana Kulsartova, Ekaterina Khomkina, Alina Nakipova, Gulnur Buriyeva, Asel Shaikenova and others.

The choreography of the ballet is a pastoral in the neo-classical genre. The libretto is based on three Shakespeare's sonnets: No. 154, 147 and 148. The leitmotif of the sonnets is Michelangelo's statement: "Any pain, deceit, attack, anger, we will overcome, armed with love".
